Such a wonderfully theatrical performance from Sunday (1994)

Sunday (1994)
There was a palpable sense of excited anticipation at Green Door Store as the audience waited for the entrance of the band members. This was my first time seeing and capturing the magic of Sunday (1994) and even before they graced the stage I could tell this was going to be a gig to remember.
Green Door Store is already a venue bursting with atmosphere, but tonight this was multiplied with a room of very appreciative gig-goers.
The English-American Dream Pop duo consist of Paige Turner from LA and Lee Newell from Slough, joined on this tour by Christine on bass and Geordie on drums. Not only is the music instantly appealing and intricate, but the charismatic performances from each band member is constantly engaging. From the signature white lace dress of Paige to her intimate interactions with her fellow musicians and audience (as well as some wonderful ‘to camera’ moments. We also had a very dapper Lee on guitar, the energy of Geordie on drums and Christine on bass dancing and smiling as she played. Not to mention the sublime vocals and talented musicians.

Bino Bames

Bino Bames is definitely someone to keep on your radar. The 20 year old musician cites some of his influences as Syd Battet, Elliot Smith, Daniel Johnstone and Ed Miller and the resulting sound is a beautiful blend of emotionally delivered songs incorporating cinematic storytelling. Combine this with a powerful and very distinctive voice and it results in an individual and quite beautiful sound.
Having grown up amongst the bright lights of Las Vegas, Binos is now based in London and we were lucky enough to see him supporting Sunday (1994) at Green Door Store for this show. He was also joined by Samson on guitar and the 25 minute acoustic set left a huge impression on me. I am now thoroughly immersing myself in his new ep Gather No Moss.
